The narration of two stories, one fantastic with elements of the popular saga and the other realistic and social, alternate in this novel with a subtle and slight point of contact. The work The Best of His Time is in itself a surprising narrative experiment: on the one hand, in an imaginary country Prince Badr Zamanihi, at birth, embodies the promise of a life free from the fears and horrors that lie in wait. human; on the other, Ahmed Ben al Hach al Mahdi, a cowardly civil servant and loving family man, surprises everyone by going to prison for a violent assault. The lives of both characters, so different and so opposite, unfold in parallel, seeking explanations for events that are not always what they seem.
